Popups on Google?

Does anyone else see popups on google? Every time I go there, one or two pop up :frowning:

My first thought was that they were ad/spyware. But, I have run both ad aware, and spybot, also have run window washer, and AVG, but they still pop up. So now I’m starting to wonder if they are actually Google’s ads…

Anyone know?

nope, I have never experienced a pop-up on google. There is probably some adware running still on your comp that those programs haven’t reached… hidden in the deep dark recesses of your harddrive…

any idea on how to get it out?

btw, reformat isnt really an option, i don’t have the time, if it comes down to that, i’ll just keep the popups :stuck_out_tongue:

Just get Lavasoft Adware

It cleans all kinds of adware/spyware weather its in the registry, or if its a cookie or a file/process.

FYI, most of them startup with windows, you can manually remove them from the registry by going to Start>Run and typing in Regedit.

Then locate the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/microsoft/windows/current version/run
Now look at the panel to your right, all the things you see on your right run with windows at startup. Before you even think of deleting anything, backup your registry (File>Export) or you can very badly mess up your PC

i have ad aware (read my first post :P)
i’ll look at what’s starting up w/ my computer, but i dont think that’s the problem as I check this often.

Adaware
Spybot
AVG
Checking Registry For Things Starting Up
and Window Washer

Just making sure it was Lavasoft Adware :smiley:

Apart from taking the HKYEY_LOCAL_MACHINE route, you might also want to also try HKEY_CURRENT_USER

And since Adware didnt work, try going to start>run and typing in msconfig and choosing what you want starting up with the system from the startup tab.

Do you use multiple browsers or just one?

how about the google toolbar?

    will it block it's own popups?

or u’ll need to be signed in with ur .net passport?

Hmm… Try Bitdefender… Best anti viral / ware deletion program out there… Might have a hidden trojan and not know it… Google has NEVER given me pop ups…
