I need some advice here… I want to buy a portable audio player, and because of the MP3 hype (I’m sure you guys heard of it ;)) I think a MP3 player is the obvious choice. It’s small and you can put a lot of music on it.
So, which one do you guys recommend? And erm… an Apple iPod or a Creative JukeBox3 are great, but too expensive for me. I mean, anything that is kind of portable can be easily broken, so I would like to have something not too expensive. Also, I don’t think those very small ones with only 128 MB storage capacity are intresting. That’s only 30 songs… and I’m looking for something that can last 6 hours or more. Including battery life.
So far, I have my eye on the Freecom Beatman II (small / mini-cd’s / 12 hours battery life / no ID3-tags, which sucks a bit). Good or not? Any other good ones?
Well, I love the iPod, I tested it in a shop previous weekend, and I must say it’s great! Even better in sound than the Creative JukeBox thingy.
However, it’s pricy. It’s probably worth it and blah blah, but still, I need something that won’t mind a scratch. I mean, it’s too expensive to mess with… for me.
I found the iRiver iFP-395T (site) that could do the trick… but I don’t know its price yet.
I’m still waiting for prices to come down just a little more, but I’ve basicaly decided on a CDRW MP3 player. They are just like the old sony diskman, but they can read a data cd or audio.
For storage, it’s ideal. I can fit something like 100 or so songs on a cd… I think, in mp3 format.
oh yeah, it has had support for any windows machine that can use firewire. plus you’re in luck because they just came out with a new design for the 10GB iPod and slashed its price down $100. Now, the new iPod is slimmer, has more features, and is $300, what the 5GB used to cost.
I have the Creative Jukebox Zen Firewire Edition and it is definitly better than the iPod. 9h Battery Life, sweet sound, fast Firewire and USB2 connection. And it is so cute small
I think to buy anything else is crap. I’m serious. With those Memory Stick Players, you can’t even get started. Cd Mp3 Player are kinda not really what u want. Think about it. It is really worth it to invest some more bugs if you listen alot to music…
I hope that helped you, guess not
Yay! 9 hours instead of 8 for the iPod. It is better. lol
Just joking… well, it’s kind of pricy too you know… I don’t like those memory stick things (or SM & CF cards, whatever) either. It’s not worth the price.
I think I’ll buy a waterproof Sony portable CD/R/RW/WMA/MP3 player. 70 hours of playback, 10 hours of MP3 music on one CD. Nice. Bigger than an iPod or Jukebox, but still nice for $ 150…
