Positioning an object with the "info" panel

Hey y’all!

I have a problem with positioning an object in the upper left corner (x=0 and y=0) of the stage.

When I do this using the “info” panel, the object, instead of going to the upper left corner of the stage, will place itself in the exact middle of the stage.

Does any one know why this is and how I can solve it? Is there a way to solve it using ActionScript?

Thanx,
Maurits

Anyone else tried this?

newhopekenny,

Thank you very much for your detailed reply!

Somewhere deep down I had the same thoughts about it being a bug, but because of my little experience with Flash I didn’t want to accuse anyone or anything from delivering a flaw in their software. :red:

I think I’ll push the whole “slide-show feature” aside and then go on creating the project in regular Flash format.

Once again, thanks a lot!

Maurits

Hey no problem-o. It’s somewhat disappointing to see such flaws in Flash MX 2004 Pro for a few reasons:

  1. The price.
  2. If the functionality were there and actually worked, it’d help push Macromedia into becoming the web standard for online applications.
  3. It’s a great idea and would make online apps very easy to create and manage.

Oh well, though. :smirk:
