Greetings, Kirupians.

This is not so much a problem, just a query I’d like to know more about before I start my Flash site. It’s regarding preloaders.

In the past, whenever I have build a site, the preloaders have always been on empty white backgrounds, before jumping to the appropriate page with all the pretty pictures, text and background image, etc.

However, on my next site, I want the pre-loader to work on the same frame as the background is placed. But when I made a quick example to test this out (test movie, then hitting control & enter to view the pre-loader) the loading bar does not show at all. The page pre-loads, but all I see is a white page, until the 100% is loaded. It’s not until then that everything pops up.

Is this because, with the background image placed on the first layer, the image is too big, and so the pre-loader cannot be seen? Is it too busy trying to load the bg image, that it cannot display the preloader bar at the same time?

Hope this makes. If anyone could clear this up for me, I’d very much appreciate it.
Thanks all.
Fulci.
