Preloader for Photo Gallery?

I’ve constructed a dynamic jpg gallery using the photo gallery tutorial. I managed to add dynamic text captions to each photo, but I’m still not sure how to add a simple preloader to the gallery for each jpg as it loads.

Any ideas??
