I’m realatively new to flash, haven’t worked much with actions, but I have found and tried to follow about seventeen online tutorials for preloading in flash and I could just be stupid (probably am) but I’ve spent more than 20 hours trying tutorials, downloading programs to do it for me, downloading .fla files where the work’s already been done and everything. I understand the concept and the code makes since to me, but what is happening?
I’ve thought about it. I’ll go into detail about what I’ve done. I already had the animation made, so I added 2 keyframes to each layer for the preload (which is normally what all of the tutorials say to do). I either add script and my animation where instructed, or I copy and paste frames from the file I downloaded. Another problem could be that I don’t know how to test it and I’ve been successful, but wouldn’t know, b/c when I use the Ctrl+Enter shortcut one of two things happens. It just plays as if there’s nothing but the movie, or it shows only the animation I have for the preload and nothing more. Sometimes the movie will continue, while still showing the animation, sometimes it will just sit there doing nothing. I’ve set it to 28.8 in the debugging and shown the streaming. I think the problem is just that I don’t know what I’m doing.
I think the easiest for me would be to just copy and paste from one of the millions of files I downloaded and put it in my movie. If someone feels like giving me baby steps for doing that and also the best way to test it, and a live person that I can work through it with, I would REALLY appreciate it. Thank you so much.
