Does a preloader works if i use this script(mc.loadmovie"watever.swf") to load into another flash file??? I think this question have been asked before.
Yes a preloader will work, BUT the perloader has to be in the “Whatever.swf” and not in the mc.

the getBytesLoaded looks to it’s own timeline to measure, if the content in question doesn’t yet exist there at the time the script is initiated - it won’t be counted
