Problem viewing updates web pages

Hi, I didn’t know quite where to post this, I also couldn’t find an answer to what is happening to me. When I upload updated .swf and html files to my server and then view the webpage the pages still show the old files. This is happening to me on a mac in both Safari and IE. I’ve tried emptying the caches of both browsers but it still doesn’t work. But then like two days later it will display correctly. I’ve had people using pcs look at the updated pages and they display correctly for them right away. The weird thing is if I type the url of the swf or html files they would display the correct file, but if I get to the pages through a link from another page it shows the old files. Anyone have any clue? Thank you.
