Professional Help

So, I guess I can’t get my problem fixed here (via my previous thread “Movie Size”…I’ve got one guy choking there, probably not a good sign). Can anyone direct me to professional who would have the facility to view my .fla? Im getting desperate…and now I’m thinking the problem could be a bug in MY bandwidth Profiler with Streaming used. Thanks.

post your fla, i’ll take a look at it

im guessing your talking about the “problem” you had with a difference in your movie size with the loaded size…

im not exactly sure why flash does that, but it does that same thing on my machine and with every other version of flash ive ever used…im guessing thats like the actual size thats loaded onto your machine? i wouldnt worry about that discrepancy…what you should go by really is what the actual size of your swf file is after it has been published…and it has been my experience that the first number on the profile usually best reflects the file size…but as far as 350 kb goes, thats pretty big…i would try and cut down the quality of the pictures you have in there or the size and quality of the mp3’s…or sound files.

i usually start freaking out if my initial flash file is above 80 kb…but then i do make some sites in the 150 range… but never over 200…but thats just me…i know a lot of people are doing stuff in the 300 range…but in my opinion thats way to big. on a 56k modem peopl are lucky if they can load a flash site in 1 min if its 300kb…think about it like that…would you wait one full minute?

I can’t attach it here because it’s too big–they only allow a “102400 byte attachment.”

email it to me

blackpulp, you said: “what the actual size of your swf file is after it has been published.” I can view the size from my .fla file when I go to Control>Test Movie via the Bandwidth Profiler and see under "Movie: the size. But AFTER THE MOVIE IS PUBLISHED and is a .swf file where/how do I view the size of the published version? (other than clicking it on my desktop and getting info on that file outside of Flash app.–is that an acurate reading? I guess it is 'cause the two sizes match pretty much. The news is even worst, the size is 419 KB…I guess the 1 min. 41 secod mp3 background music will have to be cut back first. But I’m still having trouble with my preloader–maybe 'cause the movie’s so big??

My e-mail won’t permit a file that large to be attached either. I was thinking about opening an account on .Mac where I could upload the file and other people could come and download it from the site. Would you load the file and look at it if I opened the acct. and gave you the address?

if you have large sound files in your movie, it will cause the preloader to work incorrectly.

well if your working with sound then i can tell you thats most likely the problem. take the sound out and then try.
