Hey all, I actually started programming in Actionscript, well, like 8 years ago now. It was my first programming language, and eventually I moved on to Java and then to C++. I’ve been working on a project for a while now, and it occurred to me that I had never really considered what the Flash community would think about it.
Anyway, its called MirthKit – its a free way of making cross-platform games:

Though its technically commercial, you’d never guess that when you talk to the three of us (all previous friends) who are making it. We’re really just trying to make a better way to make games without investor involvement – basically to give the people who actually are passionate about games a slightly better option for making a living off of their work.
– In case you are scratching your head about what MirthKit actually does, its kind of like smashing Flash and Steam together, and providing it all for free.
