have you ever heard of the jock jams or jock rock cds? they always had a bunch of songs that would “pump you up.” i used to listen to them all them time when i was younger…maybe try doing a google search for “Jock Jams” (they had like 5 volumes I think) or “Jock Rock” (they had two or three cds). They’re really good to work out to.

Thanks - I actually have volume 1 and 2 of Jock Jams

I figured there would be more hip hop in everyones responses… I will definatly listen to a few of these - thanks guys.

Some of my favorites are from Eminem - “The Way I Am” and “Till I Colapse”

“Lose Yourself” by Eminem is a really good song. I download a lot of movie themes, like Bad Boys and The Rock. those are really cool.

Big fan of Aphex Twin - but for working out?

I reckon you need a pile of those eighties classics, eye of the tiger already mentioned but stuff like - Power of Love - Huey Lewis and the news, Paradise City - Guns and Roses, Money for Nothing - Dire Straits.

Though that might also mean working out wearing a pair of small speedo shorts and a lot of fake tan. And a moustache.

Hmm.

Go with the Aphex Twin.

Urban: Aphex Twin is good for ANYTHING!!! He is a god!!! Ok, so I am a bit Aphex Twin obssessed, but I really do listen to his music when I do just about anything. Same goes for the other 2 I mentioned.

Don’t argue with crazy people, we may be different, but we like it that way!

Huey Lewis and the News OH YEAH…forgot about them!

wow, lostinbeta, you like aphex twin? :stuck_out_tongue: not many people do, i for one think his music is odd but my friend loves him.

Like is an understatement… I LOVE Aphex Twin. I also LOVE Venetian Snares. They both tie in at #1 for me.

My choice of music is never normal, and yes, I know not many people like Aphex Twin, and it is real hard to get Aphex Twin albums here in the states, although you can still get some of them online from sites like cdnow, tower records, amazon, etc. And every now and then you might catch one in a record store, but that is extremely rare… kinda like they put it there just to see what would happen :stuck_out_tongue:

I think my favorite Aphex Twin track is the first one off the Budakan Mindphone LP.

If you like that kind of music then you should also check out Boards of Canada (also on Warp records) Square Pusher, Zongamin, Amon Tobin (especially the ‘Permutation’ album) and all the Metro Area stuff.

I know Squarepusher (I like him, but he’s not my fave), and i’ve heard of Boards of Canada, but never checked out their stuff. The other ones I haven’t heard of, but will check out

First Aphex Twin song I heard was Come To Daddy (pappy mix), it was the first and only Aphex Twin video released in the USA and I caught it on MTV years ago when it first came out.
