Question about the "Full Flash Site" tutorial

Just worked through the tutorial (I’m pretty new to anything other than basic tweening in Flash), and I had a question about it.

In the tutorial, we simply load the movies in… but why do we never unload them when we switch to another “content movie”.

For example, when we click the music button, we load the music.swf file. When we click another button, why don’t we unload the music file before loading in our new swf?

Or is it unnessecary to do this in Flash?

Just curious, cos it’s conflicting with my Programmer side to leave unused/unneeded resources loaded…

Well you could “unload” the movie, however as long as your movies are being loaded to the same target MC they will load on top of each other. The new movie will load itself in, and Flash automatically replaces the previous movie with the new one.
