So this is really just a rant… and undoubtably will go unreplyed on because I’ll be stepping on a lot of toes ;). And really this all spawn from a few things I’ve seen here and a conversation about a “designer” (that I don’t particularly care for) that I was having with Ψ, and prolly left over from that trendwhore thread.
But I was thinkin… ppl are choosing to not like designs and sites… JUST because. Oh it moves… I’ve seen things move before, I’ve been moving since I was born… so that’s nothing new. It has sound… sound is old who needs sound… not kewl. It’s has graphics… I’ve seen graphics… I’ve seen graphics I like more… so this isn’t a good site. Ah… I’ve seen something similar b4, it’s a copy, I don’t like it. I don’t really think quite a few ppl have valid reasons. And I’d have to say it’s rather bothersome. I find it saddening that a lot of quote-designers-unquote, self proclaimed or otherwise, don’t try to take in the experience of art and design. Instead focus to much on a single point, blow it outta proportion, instead of looking at it as a whole. But even worse… what I’ve seen more of, not liking something for really nothing at all, I’ve seen a lot of “I don’t like it cause it’s not my style”. SO that’s not a reason. I feel as a designer or artist, doesn’t matter if it’s your style or not, you should still look at it more objectively. Anywho… that’s it… just wanted to get it off my chest so I don’t go to work thinkin to much about it.
