Random leaves blowing script FMX (04 or regular MX)

I know it sounds silly. But I was cruising here a while ago and I saw a script someone helped someone out with (I think it was Ilyas or Sen). What it did was simulate leaves blowing in the wind. I have use for such a script if someone knows in what post that was in (I have been searching). Or if someone knows how I could go about doing this I would greatly appreciate the help. (my AS sux).

wasnt me :!:
and dont know what post it was :frowning:

cool…Actually it could have been me seeing things…I dont be in here that often…Do you know of a tut somewhere for this?

eh, Im sure one exists. Id be surprised if there wasnt a thread on this already too (apparently just hard to find). Otherwise, we could always make a new one

please help me if you can. I searced for "random motion"and I am still reading thru the many many many posts. I think I am on like 10 of 10,000,000… hee hee.

I basically want to give the impression of leaves blowing across an image of windmills I have.

is this the one you’re thinking of?

ahahahahaha…that is the one I am looking at now. It is close But it does not look like leaves blowing. More like floating blood cells (which is what I used this for when Ilyas helped me with it). I am trying to get leaves blowing in the winds. So they kinda zig zag but stil horizontal and fly off the edge of the screen. Man the more I say it to myself the more it sounds hard and impossible.

Wow, old thread

Anyway, do you mean leaves moving horizontally, or falling down?

horizontally…please

Mod the snow tutorial.

Oups, I forgot about that thread :beam: Any improvements, 3D?

yeah…I guess going to do it with just motion tweens (multiple). But I would be curious to see it in AS. If someone has the time.

It wouldnt be THAT hard in AS, just a lot of variables to keep track of (of course depending on how you handled it, it could be minimal - I guess that goes along with creativity and ‘features’).

but you got forces of wind, gravity, wind resistance, ground reflection all affecting bot vertical and horizontal movement as well as rotation and maybe even bending.

Of course, if translated directly from the tween example I posted, its just horizontal movement and rotation. Each with a simple ease and presto.

yup…and it seems to do the trick. thanks. I was just curious what the code would look like.

sometimes the answer is right up under your nose…with all the AS talk I forget sometimes that things can be accomplished with tweens too!
