The caption for Random, after all, is

Relax and talk about anything that you feel like talking about.
By censoring them (not curses) and limiting what they talk about, we are taking away this freedom. Perhaps we have stretched the meaning of SPAM a little too far. If they have something they like talking about, I say we let them. You don’t have to meddle with them. What keeps some users coming back is Random, in my opinion. Why else is it the most populated and threadful forum?

I know I can’t possibly end this thread without a complaint of my own: I can’t really figure out what any of you constitute as SPAM. Can someone give me a clear definition? I always thought SPAM was unwanted advertisement and meaningless subjects. I know you may be saying to yourself, “most of the stuff on random is meaningless”, but if people keep replying to those threads, then they must have some minute meaning right?

You do make a point, but some threads are just so pointless, like that ‘who farted’ thread. It did get 70+ replies, but did anyone benefit off it? no… things like these just seem to tick me off, i don’t really think we need to have threads like these on the forums :hair:

ok, so I have to admit threads like those should automatically be deleted and the users who post them burned and maimed.

Those are the kind of threads we should not tolerate.

or the one of Pinx and Whippersnapper, who could talk on the phone, using the forum as a chat room, just the 2 of them to mess with 14 yr olds…

I agree with thoriphes that we shouldn’t enforce SPAM as heavily, but of course there are some threads that make me want to be the first person to invent a program that can let me go through their monitor and stab them in the face. . . . .

One of the major problems that pisses me off is when people don’t use the EDIT button when they want to add something. They just go on posting 4 new posts in a row just to add a few more short comments.

I don’t mind the spam threads, but what I don’t like is pinx (we’ll just use her as an example) or other members diverting a thread into something completely off-topic. I moved a few of hers and whipper’s posts from the Cheating thread in Ordered and into Random because of their spamming of a thread.
