Recreating a skin - challenge

I found this skin on www.theskinsfactory.com , and wanted to redo it myself :slight_smile:

now I KNOW it has errors, like the little things that form a circle aren’t the exact same apart, and I left out a few things too, also altered a few things :slight_smile:

but overall I know it could be better, but I just got tired of it :slight_smile:

you can find the original on the site mentioned above, below is my attempt, now YOU try it too :slight_smile:

the only thing I stole directly is the colors (used the eyedropper), forms and all were made by me, I just had a screenshot of this skin next to me, I completely recreated it myself. :slight_smile:

and right now I’m pretty sick of circle marquees!! :P:P:P

I’m gonna try some of the other skins too… I won’t use them tho, that’d be ripping it… kinda…

Mostly just a personal challenge, and I learn a lot of stuff from it too :slight_smile:

like sorting things… this baby ran me on 200+ layers… erck…

and I get a lot of inspiration from it :slight_smile:

Nice job man, are all those … things that look like gradients… just plain old gradients tweaked out to your liking?

edit: I realize that didn’t make sense… its getting pretty late… what I MEANT to say was did you use a lot of beveling and lighting, or did you just use gradients.

I used gradient’s, a crapload of marquees, and a sh****itload of soft brushes…
