here the whole truth about the smurfs:
why are there so many male smurfs and only one female?
You may have recognized male smurfs all look equal, only the femal one looks different. here the genetically correct answer:
you all should know from your biology lessons that the male sperm contains the chromosome that makes the decision if the child will be male or female.
same applies to smurfs:
smurfsperm with a male Y chromosome contains rather few genetical information (result: all of the males look equal)
smurfsperm with a female X chromosome is a lot heavier since it contains a lot more genetical information.
so the Y-chromosome sperm is a lot faster, and the chance a new male smurf is born is like ~95%.
what happens to smurfs when they get older / why do the older generations comprise only one male smurf?
when smurfs reach pubescence some genes awake and result aggressive behavior (like in many animal species).
In a ritual fight to death only one male smurf survifes - the new papa smurf - who wins the attention of the female smurf(s). His task is now to produce the new offspring. the female smurf(s) bring birth to hundreds of smurfs since their childbearing period is only a few days, and they give birth to 3-10 smurf each time.
after that they die from sexual exhaustion.
