I haven’t posted in random in some time, but I felt the need to display my disappointment in society.
I understand that times are rough and everyone has a million and one problems, but I really do miss the days when you went to the local news stand to grab a cup of coffee and newspaper in the morning and the clerk would say something like “Good morning, what can I get you?”. Lately I find clerks greeting me with, “Yeah?” or “What do you need?”.
After paying for my cup of coffee and newspaper I would expect some type of “Thanks”, or “Have a good one”, or something of that nature.
I almost feel like these people feel like they’re doing me a favor, yes I appreciate you getting serving my coffee, and I do appreciate it - however I am paying you for a service.
