Hey,
Ive been updating a friends non-profit website as a favor for a couple of years now and would like to find a way to have them do some of the text updates themselves
(Considering im doing it for nothing )
I was wandering if any of you know of any (Free-cheap) service or pre written scripts to remotely update a static web page.
So I guess using a program like FrontPage is out of the question then? The forums and the kirupa.com site are updated with no copy of the files stored on the hard drive. This makes it easier for me, when traveling or at school, to update the site(s) with relative ease.
Would that be something that might interest your friend? Or would that be too complicated?
If it’s just text updates there’s really only 3 or 4 html tags you need to show her,
the paragragh.
link.
line break.
And then show her where to edit each time. I find most people can grasp this fairly easily, even with no previous experience. So long as you set up the code for her neatly, she should be grand.
Yepe, I think building a small php script shouldn’t be hard. But there are also some around so you can edit your homepage from everywhere, it is just awesome and you don’t wanna miss it ever again…
Thats ok man. Not a problem. If your interested let me know. I’ll see what I can work out. I’m leaving town for a couple days but I should be able to get something together early next week…
