NOTE: what follows probably involves trigonometery
I am aiming to create a space exploration game where users can explore freely through a number of solar systems at their own leisure. The storage data of the plannets and their properties is already working.
I am however having trouble rendering the plannet in its proper location. I have draw a diagram to help in my explanation(sorry if it is too big):
What i cannot figure out is the mathematical formula that can work out what the x and y of the plannet should be, using the distance from the center and the angle.
Does anyone know?(i will be posting this on a maths forum aswell)
