If you’ve been a regular visitor to Kirupa over the past 3 or 4 years you will have undoubtedly either been helped by one of the moderators, Gert, who went by the moniker ‘Scotty’ or at the very least read numerous threads in which he’s been a part of.
I first ‘met’ Gert when I was trying to get my head around building an xml driven photo gallery. I was at my wits end. He was unbelievably patient and helped and guided me through the whole process, sending me .flas checking my source, putting me right and overall having the patience of a saint. Subsequently we went onto work together up until a year ago which is when he was diagnosed with cancer. He put up a very brave fight but he lost his battle yesterday, Feb 14.
I feel it would be very apt if the members of this board who had similar contact with Gert clubbed together and dedicated a floral tribute for the funeral and raised contributions for Yvon, his partner. I am happy to be the main point of contact, gather the monies and order from the florist. I’ve just heard the news so have not had time to work out the best way to go about this so any ideas are welcome.
