Hey i’m making a website and instead of it being based in a square rectangle i want it based in a rounded rectangle, like this site : click here .
My problem is about making a rounded rectangle mask so that all my background jpgs dont have to be saved as pngs. If I create a rounded rectangle in flash teh mask effect doesnt work, and the same goes if i create a rounded rectangle png as a mask.
Whats the best solution??

i dont see why the mask effect doesnt work with a rounded rectangle. it most certainly should.
make sure you use a movie clip as the mask and not a graphic, if you are using it to mask dynamic images thats the only tip i got for ya
Hey thanks for that but I still cant get it to work, I’ve attached the flash file of what I’m trying to do, hopefully you guys can help me out, cheers. What i’m trying to do is get it like that site i linked earlier.
The flash file is in version 8
i only got flash mx 2004
no wonder it didnt work…use a rounded rectangle man, not a square rectangle with 15px rounded lines…:puzzled:
the only thing that matters with masks is the shape of the vector…big boofy lines do the same as normal lines - absolutely nothing 
so make your rectangle a shape only with no lines… use Rounded Rectangle Radius Option when creating a rectangle…
and why have you got the thing nested inside symbol after symbol? all you need is a shape w/o outlines in a single movie clip.
