We are looking for a part-time designer, flash developer / animator to work in-house in our downtown San Diego office for up to 4 weeks in January. We have a small site that will need to be designed, developed, and launched prior to February 1.
Due to the nature of the client and the project, we won’t except applicants that can’t work in our downtown San Diego office. It may work out that we require you to be working in our office 4 days a week, 5 hours a day. We’d be happy to work with your schedule.
This site is small, approx. 7-9 different sections. However, the target demographic is Children from the age of 7-15. So, that means lots of animation, and interactivity. The site also contains sections for Teachers, Librarians, and Parents. Content in the site will be static text, some content may/may not be XML, along w/ a number of pdfs that can be accessed simply via getURLs. There will be a few section of the site that will contain form elements so that viewers can post feedback and one element that may allow users to upload photos. The candiate will work closely via im, email and phone, with a few developers on the client side to handle this data capture etc. The client is on .NET servers and will be creating the scripts to handle and direct data capture. So, with that said, If you don’t have an excellent grasp of loadVars, decent grasp of the FileReference Class, XML capabilities or can’t find/utilize email validation in flash, then this job is probably not for you. This site will be built and published to Flash 8. The use of OOP / Classes is not necessary but would probably be prefered.
We’ll need this person to take a few initial design concepts, optimize graphics in flash, animate with code or timeline, build and design other sections of the site based on the original designs, and complete all of actionscript programming of the site.
This candidate must be responsible and very talented in both design, animation and actionscript skills so that we can rely on them to take this project from start to finish.
