Ok here at work, they purchased the new studio mx professional, and at home I use just regular flash mx the one that was out before studio came out…
They will not let me use the one I have at home, they are forcing me to learn how to use this one even though im the only guy who does this stuff… I have always been good at flash but now im stumped with actionscript 2.0 because you have to pretty much **** near know actionscript and type every command… like if i do a if frame loaded i have to type the scene and layer etc… and of course i do not know how too write it out…
to where in the old flash mx you choose an actionscript and the menu/properties had drop down menues that let you chose what frame and scene and actually typed it for you…
Is there anyway to make this new flash mx 2004 pro work like the old flash instead of having to t ype it out… I do not have the time here at work to learn how to type it all out.
In Flash MX 2004 and Flash MX Professional 2004, Normal mode is no longer available. Instead, you can use the new Behaviors feature to add groups of actions that perform common scripting functions, or you can use the improved, in-context help resources which provide detailed instructions for using each Actionscript command. Also, dragging commands from the Actions toolbox into the Actions panel or using the Add (+) button to add commands to a script is still supported.
For example, using the behaviors for playing a movie clip at a specific frame or label is much easier than using the Normal Mode equivalent. In this case, the dialog box that appears to allow you to select the options for the code is much more approachable to most new users than the Normal Mode. We recognize that not every action is replaced by Behaviors, but that will come in time as we expand this solution.
Get a trial version (from macromedia). From Flash, select Help > Switch to Flash MX Professional 2004 or Switch to Flash MX 2004, depending on which trial mode you’re already using, and which you wish to try.
Blah, blah. Teoretically, everything you can do with MX 2004 you can do with MX 2004 Pro. Don’t know if this really helps you.
Just to warn you, it doesn’t have the same inteface as MX, if you get to see code, then probably it’s yours. You don’t have a helper that would ask you for functions parameters.
