Scrollbar Component

I’m having a little trouble with the scrollbar component with Flash MX 2004. When I drag the scrollbar component it’s not converting it self to the size of the dynamic field. It read’s the instance name fine but it wont change size or scroll for that matter. Is there anyway around this or can somebody tell me how to fix this issue?
