hi - can anyone give me a tip here?
i’m attempting to apply kirupa’s “scrolling dynamic text” tutorial code into my on web design

the code worked fine in kirupa’s downloadable .fla but when applying the code to my own .fla file - i cannot get it to load the data - let alone scroll in my own flash application…
the only code i changed is the name of the .txt file and the scroller variable (news)
when publishing the file i get the error message:
Warning Scene=Scene 1, layer=action, frame=18:Line 1: The identifier ‘loadVars’ will not resolve to built-in object ‘LoadVars’ at runtime.
loadText = new loadVars();
Total ActionScript Errors: 1 Reported Errors: 1
also - i have Flash mx 2004 professional version 7.0 - and there is no scrollbar in the components menu only a scrollpane - is this odd?
i am unable to attach the .fla file due to the size of the scrollbar attributes… e-mail me if you’d like to have me send the files to you
