Set audio to streaming (?)

I watched someone set a wav audio file to streaming by clicking on it in the timeline, but when I tried it I couldn’t figure it out.

He may have been using 2004, not sure if that makes a difference.

Anyone know how to do that?

You want to make a sound stream?

Yes, I think so. I’m making a movie for a client who requested the audio be streaming. The audio is voice-over which needs to be timed to the movie. From what I understand, streaming will ensure that the audio does not fall behind. (?)

check the actionscript dictionary…

my_sound.loadSound(“url”, isStreaming)

url The location on a server of an MP3 sound file.

isStreaming A Boolean value that indicates whether the sound is a streaming sound (true) or an event sound (false).

Method; loads an MP3 file into a Sound object. You can use the isStreaming parameter to indicate whether the sound is an event or a streaming sound.

Event sounds are completely loaded before they play. They are managed by the ActionScript Sound class and respond to all methods and properties of this class.

Streaming sounds play while they are downloading. Playback begins when sufficient data has been received to start the decompressor.

All MP3s (event or streaming) loaded with this method are saved in the browser’s file cache on the user’s system.

The following example loads an event sound:

my_sound.loadSound( “http://serverpath:port/mp3filename”, false);

The following example loads a streaming sound:

my_sound.loadSound( “http://serverpath:port/mp3filename”, true);

This what you wanted?

Thanks but I’m not sure what to do with this. Is there a setting box where I can click a streaming option?

well is it possible to set as target is an empty movie clip?
