Shadow borders in CSS

I want to be able to create the shadow borders that you find on CSS built sites such as site example . i;ve tried a tutorial that I [URL=http://old.thoughtanomalies.com/archives/2004/06/20/fluid_shadows/]found here but I couldn’t get it to work. The page laid out but the shadows didnt appear as I tried to make my own gif shadows.

Can anyone help me with this tutorial, point me in the dirrection of another one or tell me what I need to know.

Thanks

this will keep you occupied for a while.

thanks I’ve looked at all these already but there for full drop shdaows. I’m just looking for shadows that appear on the left and right side of my content area like in my example.

my site, www.krisgosser.com, is made like that. You don’t NEED to use CSS. I just used a transitional CSS method and used tables too. Then you can put the shadow as a cell background and it’ll extend down as long as the page is.

thanks kris. I had a look at your source code but I’m trying to do it with the CSS. I know its relitively simple I think I’m just missing something.

Ah, in that case:
