it’s ok, you don’t have to like it. I just know how much went into it and you don’t, so “not bad” to me isn’t any validation that my efforts were noticed. I guess what I did in this piece would be easy to you.

I never said I didn’t like it. The lighting in that image and the concept of it is great. I just don’t have to say it or express it any way because you already know what I’m gonna say.
I noticed your efforts but it just confused me so I’m not saying its the best piece from you. Sorry if sounded wrong.

I don’t think my efforts in the ultimate battle for the first round was noticed either…but I chose to ignore what people said 
and moved on ;).
I hate communicating with text sometimes, the tone isn’t read correctly. I’m not mad or anything…no attitude here. I think if you took a second and put the this battle’s theme in mind you might understand my volley a little more.
wow. cant believe u made that one part of the city fly. i really like how u made that rock mold in witht he city. although the shadow is the only thing that seemd sorta awkward. its as if the light is coming straight down. but other than that, amazing work.

the shadow was a headache because it didn’t look 100% correct to me either, no matter where I put it or how much opacity. The intent is just to show its mass, and obviously the light is irrelevant in that regard, since anything of mass would cast a natural shadow anyway. So that’s the effect I was going for. But after 4hrs or so, I figured it was time to let it go and move on to something else. And just for the record, I used 4 other images to create this volley. =)
Overall, I’m really happy with it. It’s not often the first thing that comes to mind is what comes to be with these things. It looks pretty much exactly the way I envisioned it, the moment I picked out that steeple in yours.

one way you couldve done it is get the city and rock and copy it and merge the copied layer. next, change the threshhold to black and blur it, than skew it, than change the opacity to make it look like a real shadow…get wat i mean?

I was looking at the shadow and thinking that it would have looked better if you painted the shadow in, since you were dealing with the rolling hills. The closest hill was probably far enough from the city that either the whole thing would be covered in shadow or none of it would be, the shadow you used would be the right size for the middle hill, and the far away hill would be a small area covered in shade.
Just some suggestions, I still thought the picture was amazing. Nothing i could have thought up! The light in the picture is just great.

Second of all haven’t you seen Sonic the Hedgehog??? If you have haven’t you seen the floating island??? You never actually saw the source of it’s power unless you went inside it.

OK i fixed the shadow up a bit. I hope that’s ok. I’m thankful for the feedback because it looks so much better now.
