I’m looking at starting a site for online gamers and the site will feature news and information targeted primarily at online console gaming. I have been toying with the idea of doing the entire site in flash and having dynamic content loaded in and not have a TON of animation going on at once but still using flash for the entire project so that page transitions could look really snazzy and the user could customize the layout as well as have video content start preloading while they were reading. If they didn’t want to view video they could simply click on the video and it would stop preloading. I know this is quite an ambitious project but it could be a very impressive and innovative way to deliver news content. I would have to learn a TON for the project and it wouldn’t be a very fast project at all, but in the end it would be a very rewarding one.
What do you guys think?? Would it be possible? Worth it? If you like the idea and want to give some suggestions please by all means go ahead.
I would love to even in the end possibly have EVERYTHING including the forums in flash. It would be nice to tackle a project entirely with flash that most flash ‘non-believers’ think is not possible. Anyway, it’s part dream/part idea/part reality. I already have the domain however there is nothing currently there.
