Skate layout

this the layout i designed for skateboard/rollerblade cd-rom. it is a digital magazine with skate video footage, and pictures of local skaters here in charlotte, nc. but i just want some opinions, or tips on what i can imrove. im obviously not an experienced designer so i won’t get offended if you totally bash the design. any comments would be much appreciated.

i agree with waztone. I think the cover would look great if you put something in there which forms a relationship with the subject.

I dont say the color scheme isnt nice, but I think it has nothing to do with the subject.
I think you should use more contrast, and some vivid colors…

Dude whats that coffee stain? lol jk but it just looks really tame for a skater site, the message to me is metrosexual skaters lol. In my opinion, the rose should go and those crazy arabic letters around the edge to some grungy stuff I guess. I really like you have got goin though!

I dig the color scheme, but it doesn’t say anything about skating. Maybe, IMO if you shot the truck, from an odd angle or the wheel from a unique perspective, or distorted it would lead the reader to understand what you aim is without sticking a cheesy clipart there. Something subtle that a skater would immidiately recognize.

Just my two copper Lincolns…

Are you trying to accomodate fruitbooters and skateboarders on the same cd-rom? That seems like a mistake to me…
