Slide show?

I’m currently rebuilding my site and for each section i load in a external movie for the buttons and then each button loads in a seperate movie for the content. What I want to happen is for a picture to slide in then when another button is clicked the pic on the screen slides out and a new one slides in. My first attempt was putting all the pics into one movie clip but when i exported it most of the pics became distorted so i was thinking of making seperate movies and doing it that way. Any help will be greatly appreciated thank you.
