Sliding Background

The tutorial here confused me…
So anyways im trying to make my websites backgrounds do this
http://www.fournuts.com/main.html ignore the pop up that comes up…

I want the background to scroll whenever i click on a button and i have it all set up and it is still confusing cause i cant get it to work

If someone can help me get these buttons working right it would be much appreciated… or tell me what im doing wrong.

uhh anyone? suggestions perhaps

Theres tutorials for this in the kirupa tutorials section…

I dl’d your fla and it seems like it works just fine you just have to remember to apply your actions to all of you buttons, and then fine tune it all so the sliding stops where it should and what-not. My suggestion to you though, if you plan on moving things around with script try to make symbols with the registration point in the top left corner or the center of the symbol, it makes calculating locations quite a bit easier.

not exactly… the first slide is suppose to stop center… then when he hit each button they slide back and forth to there pictures but its not working that way.

okay so you have the 2 pictures and you want the first one to slide out and the second one to slide in (timed cleanly of course).

In that case you need to target the picture themselves, if I am way off, maybe you could explain in a different manner the effect you are trying to achieve. When I am sure of the effect I will make a modified version of your fla for you to examine.

The first thing I noticed is that the endx position in your instance of the background (bg) was set wrong. It should be something like endx = 430;

if i can figure out the whole x and y **** i would be fine
