Okay, this has probably been answered before… I couldn’t find anything though… (don’t hurt me…)
If I draw something on paper, and then scan it into my computer, due to the fact that I don’t have the straightest lines, the drawing looks all jaggedy, and not quite straight… what would be the best method to making my drawing go from jaggedy hand-drawing, to something that looks like something that it could be in a cartoon, or something.
I’ve heard one method in which I could open the image in PhotoShop, and then use the Pen tool to draw all around the image. I tried this one for my Lil’ Reaper drawing I made (which is on the main page of my Server: http://seifertim.no-ip.com ), but it looked really off, and still not quite straight.
Everything else I’ve tried has resulted in a worse looking result…
Would anyone like to share their techniques?
Did you stroke the path you made with the pen tool? If you use the right brush, you should have a nice smooth line. Also make sure you stroke onto a new layer, so that you can delete the scanned, pixelly layer afterwards, leaving just the smooth lines you’ve penned in. Ideally, you should use a vector program like freehand or illustrator, as they’re better for getting smooth-lined results.
Yeah, I did that, and while the lines themselves were pretty smooth, everywhere I put a point looked odd… I’ll try and post an example here…

Do you see what I’m talking about?

looks fine to me, it just seems different, I have a freind and she draws and then scans it and touches it up, she still cant get over the weird different look of it.
