I bought it a couple of days ago. Brand new from a retail store.
I know it has a pretty short battery life (<1.5h without power). Today, I was using it until it had about 10%. So I turned it off. About 10 minutes after I turned it on again with the power plugged in, the screen suddenly went black. No sound, nothing. Control alt del, alt f4, nothing did anything, and the power was still on (according to the little LED). So I shut it off with the power button. This happened again later.
Then later today, it happened again. Except this time it restarted the computer. I’m like, fine. BUT JESUS it scared the crap out of me - before the bios screen came on, the screen suddenly had animations of distortion. The entire screen is like vertical and horizontal black and white lines but moving and distorted. The whole thing was shimmering like in those scary movies. WTF could be happening? I have never in my life seen this.

ARGH this time it was after I restarted the computer after enabling sharing within my local network.
