Sony VAIO

So I’m thinking of getting MY first computer, as in the first that I actually own. Up until then I have been using my dad’s computer. I would like to get a laptop because of the portability, being able to take my computer anywhere is a huge bonus.

I don’t really care much about power, that being processor(preferably 2Ghz or > ), or RAM (preferably 1GB or > ). Just to be used as a workstation, to take notes, and play around with flash, and FL studio and for the odd game. I was looking at the sony store today, at West Edmonton Mall at the VAIO’s. They look real nice and have the power requirements that i need + some. I was focusing on the CR series, that is, the cheapest, and the most common. http://www.sonystyle.ca/commerce/servlet/CategoryDisplays?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10001&categoryId=100193&navigationPath=32009n32160

The associate at the Sony store had said they come with 2GB RAM, and upgradable to 4GB. It has a built in camera, and Mic, and is focused on playing multimedia in a wide variety (or somthing like that). It is essentially a (bottom end of the) top end laptop(s), and would be great to start with.

Does anyone have anything to say about the VAIOS (CR series) such as pros and cons, etc. Or does anyone have any suggestions for a better deal on a different laptop model?

edit:

Sorry to bug u guys, but i don’t know much about processors. What does centrino mean? Is that worse than pentium or somthing?
