Sound Bug in MX Player?

Aloha!

I hope someone here can point out my error.

I’ve created a project with one audio file and it is linked. At the root timeline, I am able to control the position of when and where the audio is to play - along with the nested buttons. [Basically being able to sync the audio with the images corectly.]

Problem 1:

On my development machine [DEV], everything works great. When I send the file to another machine [CLIENT 1] the audio file won’t play in the final swf. The [CLIENT 1] machine has the all of the latest Flash and Shockwave Plug-In Updates.

[When I say “send” I am refering to giving them a link to the server]

Problem 2:

When I send the file to another machine [CLIENT 2], exactly configured like [CLIENT 1] - the swf project starts to play with audio, but the animation stops playing midway.

Has anyone experienced this problem before? Is this a possible bug in the MX Plug-In or the code or the machine?

This is the latest “rebuild” [4 different versions were created with diferent scripting variations] of the project which leads me to believe that this could be bug problem with MX… or isn’t it?

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Nick

  1. When u test yours, do you just play it through flash? Or do you test it through the server too?

If your testing yours through flash it will work fine ( your audio) make sure the audio is set to “stream”, so far thats all that i can think of.

Hope he has his speakers on!! :stuck_out_tongue:

  1. Never experienced anything like that. Do you have a preloader at all? If you dont, maybe yur just making it freeze along the way :-\

=)

can you send us the link so we can see??

:sigh:

Hi Dave,

Well, I’ve tested in both through the Flash player and through the server. It works super on my development machine… which is W2K. Not sure if this could be a problem or not…

So I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out this problem for the last 3 months…

I am using a Preloader and since MX is notorious for downloading the entire sound file prior to loading the “Pre-Loader” - you’ll notice the blank screen for the first few minutes. I know there is a work out, but that’s not a priority at the moment.

Here is the link to the project… it’s about 15MB. Hopefully, you’re running at least with a Cable or DSL connection.

Let me know if it locks up or not… or if the animation gets stuck… or any grievences…

BTW, the current running time of the presentation is 11 minutes… just a warning though.

Thanks.
Nick

VERY nice splash page!! I really like it!!

I have dial up :frowning: but im going to see how patient i can be!!

=)

Hey Thanks!

Too bad you’re on dial up, but hopefully, you’ll be able to see it…

Let me know if you have problems with it.

BTW, I’ve tweaked the scripts to the project again, but I haven’t uploaded it… still the same problem exist… :frowning:

Nick

Nice splash page,

I’ve got cable so i was able to check out the site,
very informative , lol, but i couldnt stay the length of the presentation, though what i did hear worked fine, dnt see any problem with it.

That was my friend he checked it out!!

I just checked it out, went through the whole thing, very very nice =)

It stopped at :: Burden Pool. Is that the end??

If it is, it all played fine till then!!

Just went through the rest too man, all working fine so far!!

Does he flash player 6??

Thanks for the help. But unfortunately, “Burden Pool” wasn’t suppose tp be the end… :hair:

What gets me confused is to why on certain other machines, the animation stops at different points [sections] of the timeline while it runs fine on my machine.

Any ideas?

In the meantime, I will see to strip down the source file and post it for a better analyzed look.

Thanks again.

thats a shame :frowning:

All the rest worked fine!!

Its really good man, i liked what u did!!

=)

I realized that what I’ve posted is the older version. Sorry about that.

So I’ve just posted the updated [modified scripts] to the file. That should fixed that section.

In the meantime, I will create a “watered” down version of the source file. I’m sure it’s either the code or the plug-in… who knows.

Thanks again!
Nick
