Spiders man!

Camel spiders!

From someone stationed in Baghdad. He was recently bitten by a camel spider which was hiding in his sleeping bag. I thought you’d like to see what a camel spider looks like. It’ll give you a better idea of what our troops are dealing with.

not much of warning considering it’s one eight of an inch above that nasty picture.
and ewwwwwww

yeah, you are right - that’s what I get for copy and paste from an email. Gonna remove that warning right now.

Like anyone on this forum needs the warning! (especially after reading fester’s thread about the guy and his eyballs! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: )

Those are awesome! I want one.

//Ha Ha - I do what I can :thumb:

wait it looks like two or something i’m counting more than 8 legs…maybe my mind is fried from work…

:stuck_out_tongue: yeah, I think there are two. Nastly little f***ers aren’t they?

…I think there are 2 spiders…

That would be pretty weird to find in a sleeping bag… now im going to be checking mine everytime i go camping…

Its kind of hard to tell how big they are in that picture. It actually makes them seem bigger than they really are. About as big as they get is around 3 inches long

Yeah the way that is shot it looks like that spider is leg length, but you can see by the hand holding them that they are only a few inches.

There are a lot of myths around them too. Like they can run 30 mph and that they eat camels and whatnot

the only “big” spider in the world is the turantula in South America, which can get up to 12 inches across. Most are only 4-5 at the largest, and are not agressive. It’s the small aggressive ones you gotta watch out for, like the ones above maybe?

just a couple of links i found (the last one is cool- a movie)

those pinchers are still pretty creepy

my favourite animal still is the Naked Mole Rat
that’s this little sucker:

And not to forget the Grottenolm. Like a friend of mine noticed: blind, deaf, mute,… the porsche in the category pets:

Yeah, I agree with what was previously said. The picture makes those spiders look gigantic, but if you look at the hand thats holding it, it’s right up in the lens. They really aren’t that big (tarantula sized).

That naked mole rat thing . . . aren’t those the guys from the Quiznos commercials?

:stuck_out_tongue:

and from the disney channel show “Kim Possible”

the Quiznos animals are monkeys

:sigh: yeah, deep-fried monkeys maybe . . .
