Splash Page v1.0

Yes i did.

Pretty simple to do making it look good with burn and dodge is the hard bit :/.

I am still searching for fonts and i have changed the grunge effect now.

Still in the design stage though and i will try it as a jpeg.

i kind of like the obvious red blob on the top left, perhaps if you faded that layer down to like 20-25 percent, kind of make it look like it is suspended in the distance/faded…

i can see now I’m going to have to make a photoshop paper tutorial…

Thanks for the advice prstudio i’ll show you an update later!.

Btw why does my dad’s screen make such a difference to how my pics look. MY screen upstairs is a flatron 16" his is a TFT flatron 18" and theres loads difference i’ve tried adjusting colour settings with no apparant difference.

Seems to be a lot of conflict going on in this splash page. You have a realy deep red and a light blue then an orange. Also you have these very tech style abstract blobs on top of a grungey background. I think if you are going to put the blobs and the grunge together you should blen them a lot more then jsut putting one on top of the other. Also myabe work on getting some kind of a color theme going instead of having so much contrast.

i want to make it really contraversial and try and make it all work :/.

heres a new design i tried

Grunge up the edges with a soft set of gruge brushes.

tahts the best looking one so far :thumb:

i am having problems importing brushes anyone know whats wrong the abs files dont show up anywhere in photoshop.

Are the .abr files installed in the Brushes folder…???

Something like…

C (or drive where you installed PhotoShop>Program Files>Adobe>PhotoShop7>Presets>Brushes…

yes still dont show up tho

VisualAid,

First thing that popped out at me was the color scheme, especially the splash1.png mock up. The red, blue and orange seem to clash, and don’t work well in that layout. Another thing that really doesn’t fit is the mix of abstract trendy objects and the grunge {middle} section. I encourage you to keep trying and experimenting. If you do your homework you should be able to knock out a nice splash.

Good Luck

thanks for the comments  all a great help to me. It’s a good job i didnt make it trend whore then aswell? :).

I’ll work with some other designs but keep this one rembered at the moment.
