Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow just isn't what I expected

Hey my fellow gamers,
I decided to rent the new splinter cell for xbox this weekend, and well, to tell you the truth, it was just what I pictured it to be. Oh sure, the game is fun online, but there’s just something about it that dissapoints me. When you are a merc, you only have one gun, the assault rifle, and the bad part is that every map is totally pitch dark, so if you want to see anything, you have to use the motion detector or the electromagnetic sensor thing. With the motion tracker, the whole screen is red and bvery blurry, but when you detect something moving, it highlights it. I just don’t like how blurry and red it is. And I never use the electro sensor because it’s so bright it’s annoying to play. Why dont the mercs have night vision or like thermal. All the spies have the good stuff, while eventhough mercs are my favorite, I continue to use them over the spy. The maps aren’t that great, I mean, they seem like something is just odd about them. So I just wanted to say this as a warning about buying this game. I bet there are people out there who will love this game, but I don’t think it’s what anyone expected.
The first one seemed so smooth and slow, it was great, but now, it’s just like fast runing and shooting… Don’t get mad at me for not really liking the game, but I just don’t think it was as great as everyone thought it would be.
Oh and another extremely annoying thing is that your connection fails so much when your in a game, or like when you try to enter a server, it like kicks you out from connection. But I doubt this is a SC thing, I play other live games, and it does it on them too.

-Just sharing some opinions, tell us what you think of the game.

I am yet to:

  • get a better version of the demo so it actually plays on my computer
  • buy/rent it for Xbox

but from the screenshots/movies/reviews I’ve seen, it looks great.

Yeah,
the screenshots always look great El,
even for really bad games, the screenshots can look awsome. But I think I’m the only person who is not totally impressed with the game.

the new Splinter cell is awesome :thumb:
I play it so much and havnt even done all the maps yet because I can do the same mode/map over and over in that game because everytime I play a round something new happens  and grinch when you said it was too fast that was only because you were watching me play against noobs and they couldnt do anything but once you start to play against more advanced players you cant just run in at all…you need to take it slow, comminicate, and not forget to check for mines :puzzled: I love how the multiplayer flows differently than any other game I give Splnter Cell: Pandora Tomarrow two thumbs up :thumb: :thumb:

I’ve seen some movies on the new multiplayer mode, and they look totally awesome… Just the idea of multiple Sams sneaking around a base is cool itself, but then the communication between them and seeing them pair up and sneak up on mercenaries…it’s great :thumb:

Yes, this game is going to be one of the best until Halo 2 comes out. My xbox just broke not to long ago, so im MIA.

Bah,
I’m more a fps shooter, our maybe thrown in SOCOM II. But I just don’t feel the connection with SCPT for some reason, but I guess the single player mode must be really fun. Probably more then the Live mode.
I really wait for Halo2, but who doesn’t?
Anyone here play Enemy Terrirtory?

Got it recently for the PC,

As with most sequels bar a few exceptions, Tom Clancy’ Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow is the original game build with a few aditional tweaks. for example, some of the graphical elements have been improved (single player mode);

A slight blur has been applied on everything so that everything doesn’t seem too sharp, or unreal o.O

The water in the original game was kinda cruddy, and when you walked through long water grass nothing really happened, but in this new game, the water is very realistic, and when you walk through long grass, it moves around you as it would in real life.

The A.I. in the game is as good as the original, which is already very good. In fact I think it’s a slight more sensitive, for example now if you throw an object the enemy hear it a lot farther off/a lot easier. Maybe I’m mistaken

The single player mode is as good as always, with the same method of making you think about what you have to do, unlike other games where you just burst in guns blazing. You have to actualy use stealth, think about other possible routes, throw objects/whistle to destract guards. One little thing is the Swat Turn, which isn’t in the original hehe. This is just a little manouvre where you can spin from one wall edge across a gap to another wall edge, looks kinda kool :stuck_out_tongue:

The multiplayer mode appealed to me largly, because as of yet there is no other completely stealth driven game which has gone multiplayer, and the sight of 3 or 4 spies working together looks awesome  especially with those kind of graphics (yes the graphics were toned down a lot for multiplyer to give the servers a break ;P) The mercs equipment was a good idea, with the motion tracking, the the electro tracking to detect spies using their equipment, but as Grinch saig the mercs do only get one weaon

My two cents lol

If I’m not mistaken there’s also this new move when you’re like… just amde a split jump then you can lean one or the other way while up there… I think…

Oh I see I see,
the graphics were cut down a lot in multiplayer.
I haven’t played single player yet, my friend is playing live only, so I got to see single.
Thanks blurb

lol sorry forgot to mention that completely ;/

Yeah there is that move. Whilst in a split jump if there’s a platform or ledge or something above you, you can lean the correct directoion and press jump to lunge towards the ledge lol  Not sure if it works when youre in a split jump and just want to move upwards but still be in a split jump, if you get what I’m saying. Didn’t try that one ;/ This move is a good improvement because in the original Splinter Cell I always had the urge to move whilst in a split jump but couldn’t lol :stuck_out_tongue:

np grinch

Just beat the single player mode. I must say that this was a pretty good game. I’m not sure about replay value, but it’s definitely worth considering again in the future.

Oh beat it thor?
How long did it take, and was it hard? (hope it is)

don’t you think it’d be a tad easy if the mercs had thermal and/or nightvision? :sure:
