Straight corners/edges?

Maybe I’m doing this wrong, but say I want a box. Just a box… I create it with the square tool…and then highlight the inside to delete it so that I only get the border…why are the edges always rounded?? Even tho I dont round them :q:

Stupid question prolly- but I gotta ask! :frowning:

perhaps you have the rounded corners option on. Check to see if it is at 0 or not…

if you’re talking about the rounded corners on the outline, then that might not show up in your final movie…

I forgot to add that the corners become a little rounded only when I stroke the outline to anything more than 1… and I did make sure to set my corners straight…

Should I not be making borders this way or something?

ah, i see. Strokes are always rounded off, for some reason. i guess it helps you see what is a shape and what is a fill…

you could do something like this: say you wanted a 400x400 box with a 2 point stroke all the way around it. To get the flat look, you should make a box that is 404x404 pixels, and then ‘subtract’ out of the center with a 400x400 pixel box, thus leaving a 2 stroke wide fill that would encompass your box. Basically what im saying is draw your strokes with fills.

Also in the menu under modify…shapes… there is, ‘convert line to fill’ It might help you out…

If i havn’t helped you figure this out, then ask more questions…
