yeh K Man thats the biggest draw for me to Dell, those massive resoltuions and that awesome screen I think the dell I am getting has like a 1900 + * some other great resoltuion so thats really good
If you have 1700 USD then I would go with either the Dell Inspiron E1705 or E1505 based on the screen size, get one gig ram, ugrade to better screen, and get the nVidia card and it should come out to be under 1700, you can find dell coupons online by just typing dell and looking at the sponsor links at google (coupon mountain is good). I just got my Dell E1705 and it is amazing (it has 2 GB ram) really nice.
I would go for a Lenovo, too. They’re really nice, and very strong. It’s more difficult to vacuum the keys off of those. [whisper]Sadly enough, my dad vacuumed two keys off the IBM he gave me, when he still was using it.[/whisper]
You can run Linux :thumb:
up going for a suped up Dell 6400 with the UXGA screen 1.86GHz Intel Core Duo, 1GB Ram, 100GB HD, ATI something or other 128MB graphics…thats it I think…yeh thats it!!
nice little laptop that will do me just fine and dandy
If those specs are standard then it’s a very good buy.
You can get a dual core dell for 1700, they have a 25% off all laptops right now. I just customized, $1750.
im talking, 1.88 core duo, 256 radeon mobility, 1gig ram
One thing to watch with Dell UK is the after sales customer service is poo
How about Toshiba, Satellite series ? Have you looked any ?
