Swapping hosting company

Hi all,

My company has been having loads of issues with its current hosting company (openhosting). Emails have been very bad! I want to swap them over to 1&1.

Thing is, if I do this - we won’t receive any emails for a few days maybe?

Has anyone done this? What is the best way to approach it and any advice?

As long as you can access email on both servers, you’ll never lose emails during the DNS propagation. You could even have emails sent to one server forward over for convenience.

That makes me curious to what happens if you sign up for 2 Gmail accounts, set each one to forward to the other, and you send an email to one of them… How fast would your limit fill up?

What if you do it with Google and Hotmail? Microsoft certainly isn’t smart enough to find that loop… is Google smart enough to outsmart MS?
