Pardon me if this is basic, I’m still rather new to web design. I have an HTML site with a Flash movie on the Home page only. The Fireworks pop out menus seem to hide behind the Flash movie, while appearing fully once in a while. You can take a look if you like. http://www.conquest004.com/ (It’s not done, so please be kind.) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Do you mean the ones where you rollover the menu?? they seem to work fine…or do you mean something else?
Thank you for responding so quickly. I am referring to the popout menus on the left hand side. They only have a problem on the home page, they hide behind the flash movie, every other page they work fine.
They home page is the one with the flash menu right? Its working totally fine for me. Maybe we should see if it works on another computer; it might be just yours, or mine.
The one down the left with ‘About Us’ and ‘Amenities’ work perfectly for me.
I see that you just put a base image next to that SWF so the menus will never roll-over the SWF.
Let me explain the problem that you are having. This is a browser issue that has been around for awhile however, we just haven’t really noticed it that much until as of recent because up until recently, mouseover, pop-ups, DIVs, layers and embed objects haven’t been used concurrently on the web.
On the web, any layer will be demoted below any embed object (ie Flash) or Form element. For reason unbenounced to me IE and I believe every browser put all Form elements and embed objects above an other HTML element. The only work around for this is to hide the Form or embed element when you pop-up the menu.
