i’ve written a paragraph of text and have made it into a symbol.is there a way to make only certain words of that paragraph a link?please reply if im not making sense…l
If entering text through AS or external source, you can HTML enable your text box.
If you are putting the text in the box directly. You can select the word you want to be a link, then open the properties window (CTRL+F3). At the bottom, there will be a picture of a link with a text box next to it, type in your URL there and the word will become a link.
gracias beta.
No problem
interesting idea I wanted to ask you about LIB. Since it relates to this thread, I’ll post it here.
In MX, when you break apart text once, it keeps them as text fields, but makes each letter it’s own text field. This leads me to believe that Flash MX keeps track of letters as individual objects, on some level. Tell me this:
If I place a text field on the stage, can I call to it by instance name? AND, can I therefore use a “for. . .in” method to get the location of an individual letter, in relation to that text field’s registration point?
the reason this relates is that you could then use that information to place invisible, dynamic buttons ontop of links, bringing the creation of those links to a different level.
I have never tried, but I believe you can.
When you break the text once, it automatically converts to static text boxes of each letter.
But if you select those textboxes you can turn each one of them into a dynamic text area, and you can of course edit a dynamic text area through AS.
Wait wait… misread… Also still a yes because you can covert each of those seperate letters into a movie clip symbol and determine it that way.
