Text rendering rant

Is it just me or does adding text fields to your scene slows Flash IDE considerably? I’ve added 25 pages of static text to my project - each page on it’s own frame - so no more than ~15 lines of text are displayed at the same time and this KILLED my quad CPU - i could barely switch my windows. Changing antialiasing from ‘For Reading’ to “Use Device Fonts” helped a bit - but still it was close to impossible to work because any action would take 2 or 3 seconds to complete.
Seriously - my PC is capable of working with multi-million polygon scenes in Maya in realtime, i can play Crysis / Far Cry 2 (or whatever games there’re now) on highest setting and Flash is not able to render 10 LINES OF TEXT?! Word or Adobe Reader are handling text just fine - so WTF?!
To cure this i had to go into trouble and converting all the text to dynamic (about an hour of AS writing and text copy/pasting including formatting). And THEN i found out that it’s not that easy to embed a font with unicode characters. Oh yeah… another 4 hours of goggle’ing and trial and error… Just to find out that having a bold font in your scene is A SIN (at least Flash seems to think so). Dunno - but i couldn’t embed bold fonts with unicode characters - it just didn’t work for me.
Anyway - there - i let it all out. Thanks for reading (if anyone will actually read this).

P.S. Oh btw if you compile the project text renders just fine - without any slowdowns.
