The Best Bed Frames, Tested in Our Own Rooms (2026)

Looking for the best bed frame.

Thuma’s nice, but my one paranoia with bed frames is squeaks—especially if you’re on a creaky old apartment floor.

I had the same worry in my last place, and most of the noise ended up being floor-on-frame, not the frame itself. A thin felt pad or rubber furniture gripper under each leg made it almost silent.

Look — that’s the kind of fix that actually works. I did the rubber gripper thing under a cheap metal frame and it stopped the creaks immediately.

Rubber grippers are magic until they start “walking” on slick floors. I had better luck putting a tiny bit of double-sided carpet tape under the gripper so it stays put.

Yep, I’ve seen the “walking” thing too—especially on polished wood when the room warms up and cools down. I ended up swapping to those felt/rubber combo pads and they’ve stayed put way better than plain rubber.

Same here — plain rubber feet just kind of “hydroplane” on polished floors once there’s a little dust. The felt/rubber combo (or even those grippy furniture cups) has been the only thing that stopped my frame from slowly migrating overnight.
