My unfinished site is at www.abgnet.co.uk
I’ve been redesigning it recently, and have made a new flash header, which is fairly large, and needs to be preloaded. As it uses some xml and components,a traditional preloader inserted in frames before the main content does not work. I’ve therefore loaded it in another container swf and tied it to a progress bar.
This seems to work fairly well. However, if you visit the site, click on the links for a while and play with it, or leave it alone for a while, the externally loaded swf randomly disappears (especially after I have selected another value from the combobox), and I can’t figure out why. It works fine if I load the main swf directly, but then the progress bar disappears.
Has anyone seen this problem before, and how would I go about fixing it?
PS, it usually needs some kind of perseverance to observe, just leave it open in another window and do other things, and when you come back and try to interact with it, it disappears.
PPS: Never mind now. I haven’t found a solution, and I don’t think I ever will. I’ve just removed the rss reader completely, which saves me a lot of grief anyway. Thanks anyway.
