[SIZE=2]Having worked with the general public for some time in various roles, encompassing a wide cross section of ages, social status etc, I am coming to the conclusion that they are, on the whole, “as mad as a bag of pegs”.
For some time, I thought it was me. Perhaps I was causing these rational, erudite people to behave oddly. But no, it isn’t.
Hey, everyone has their off days I know, but…
Sorry for rant, such a small thing set me off -
Friend of a friend of a friend, is interested in web design asked for a chat / where and how to start learning etc. Cool! No problem. But, he was under the impression that he could (with almost no experience using a computer) have his own bespoke website up (with a good number of ‘fancy boy’ features) in 2 weeks… And, rubbished me when I suggested it might take a tad longer than that.
sorry but that’s pretty much the general consensus i’ve come to. there are of course certain individuals you meet that deserve to be walking, breathing, and consuming resources. But on a whole, the earth and all it’s beauty are wasted on our species.
Haha, normally I’m the guy who says everyone sucks. But sometimes I think maybe I’m the one who’s just visiting and the one who is a little bonkers for staying too long.
I don’t think that ‘they’ are bonkers. I’m sure that all of the posters in this thread are considered to be a part of the ‘general public’ by numerous people.
Yes, but never underestimate the stupidity of people in large numbers. For me dealing with people in tech support the issue was more that the unbelievable level of nuttiness that a few people have taints the experience with the majority of fairly “normal” encounters.
You just assigned the General Public as Bonkers. I think you meant to compare the two, in which case you would have had to use the equality operator. “The General Public == Bonkers”
