Question:
If I draw a simple rectangle on the main stage with no stroke just a fill. The widest it could be, the x value, is 2880. True or false?
I seem to be stuck at this number and can’t get it larger.

you can make, virtually, any size. But, the size of the stage has a max of 2880.
anyways, if you make an object that big it will ruin you movie size and performance.
cheers
I can’t seem to create an object that is wider than 2880 pixels width value. I don’t convert it to a symbol. I draw and try to type in the width a number over 2880. It prohibits me from doing this. Have I got a setting that needs to be changed?
just curious, why do you need such a symbol?
Yeah I had the same problem with a looong text to be scrolled but I could type the text and entering anew line and there was no height to be entered so I managed to get over it! Dunno the solution though! There should be stage size entered from somewhere! (I don’t think there is but they should make one)!
:stunned:
This is very interesting. I have created a modification of the infinit menu at http://www.nassauboces.org/cit/ModelSchools/highlights.htm
I am creating a new version of the one above with the specific stage size. I want to include 19 photos. Without resizing the thubmails I can only fit 15 on the set space. If I transform or use the free transform tool the script wont work because it is based precisly on the width value of the object. So the longest drawn object is 2880. No longer.

you got me there dude

You can draw an object on the stage that is wider then 2880?
:stunned:
try this: draw an object, then hit ctr+shift+s, then scale to 1000, and keep doing that…
you´ll see an object bigger that 2880px
cheers :hangover:
ctrl+shift+s only saves the file. I want an object without using the transform panel. That will disble the modified infinit menu script I use. Im using a PC with Flash MX
ctrl+alt+s
well there may be some workaroud way to do that, but it´s hard to tell :-\
when you scale an object it still maintains its width and height value, which is key for the infinit menu.
